No, it wasn't supposed to be revenge. It was still “just” a regular group B game. Except for the fact that the game featured two teams that fought for bronze medals at the previous World Championships in Switzerland. And it was the Swiss players who then lost the game in front of the home fans and ended in tears. And despite there is still a lot of time left until the bronze medal game, this match most probably decided about the group B winner, who will have an easier opponent for the semifinals. And after two goals by Silvana Nötzli this privilege will most probably go to the Swiss team.

In the second today's game in group C the spectators saw a surprisingly tough and interesting floorball. The Australians were in charge of the game mainly due to their fiercer attitude and bigger fighting spirit, but the Koreans managed to score their historically first goal at the World Championships. The final score was 9:1.

The Finnish national team made up for their yesterday's debacle from Sweden and crushed Russia by 9:1. The Finns had a rather slow start into the game but with a focused performance they led the match into a convincing win. The Russians tried to resist as long as they could and adjusted their performance accordingly, which was way better than in the yesterday's game against Poland. But still it wasn't enough for a good result.

Right after the game between Sweden – Poland another derby match started in the Arena B. In a group C game, Slovakia encountered Hungary. The game was expected to be quite tight, but the Slovaks didn't care about these predictions and totally annihilated their opponents.

The Finnish referees Tom Kirjonen and Jyrki Sirkka replaced the ill Czech duo Petřík – Podlesný yesterday in the game between Switzerland – Latvia. But today it is the Finns who fell ill and for the game between Australia and Korea they have to be replaced by the Polish duo Bienkowski – Chomnicki (Marek Chomnicki had a birthday yesterday and you can read our interview with him on our website). The Czech referees will return to the tournament with the game between Denmark and Canada.

Poland met Team Sweden for the first time ever and despite their great effort they couldn't stop the Scandinavian machine. With ten seconds into the game Therese Karlsson already showed who will control the match.
