The battle for the first points in group C concluded the tournament schedule in Brno's Arena B. The Wednesday's play-off matches will be played only in Brno's Arena A. Hungary met Korea and were surprised by their opponents at the very beginning. Despite they were rather controlling the game, they let the Koreans tip in the ball three times and suddenly they were a goal down. After turning the score around the Koreans once again returned to the game following a mistake by the Hungarian goalie.

Yesterday, Finland defeated Russia despite they had a rather slow start into the game, and today their match against Poland had a similar scenario. After the first period, the Poles kept a promising score 0:1 and after the second the Finnish lead still wasn't decisive. But in the third the Scandinavians improved their finishing and, in the end, nine balls ended in the Polish net.

The last game in group D between Denmark and Germany was a great drama. The tight game was basically decided by two German players. The goalie Indra Reck and the scorer of all three German goals Ina Jensen.

Switzerland entered the game as favourites but it seems they were too sure about their dominance. The captain Silvana Nötzli, who decided about the Swiss win against the Czech Republic, remained in her jacket on the bench in the first period and the goalie Helen Bircher, who didn't play against the Czechs, returned to the goal.

The battle for the third place in group D featured an encounter between Japan and Canada. And since both teams lost their first two games, they tried really hard not to lose the third one too. Canada entered the game better and controlled the first half of the match without difficulty. Then Japan returned to the match with their three goals. But luck and readiness were more on the Canadian side and so the Canadians grabbed their first point after winning 5:3.
