Slovakia beat Denmark 4:3 in overtime and tomorrow they will face Russia in the 9th place game. The Slovaks got into a three-goal lead in the first period, which they wasted during the game, however. What is more, four seconds before the end of regulation the referees awarded a penalty shot for Denmark. But Maria Olausson didn't succeed and the match went to overtime, in which Milota Hutirová scored the game winning goal.

The stands in ČEZ Arena in Ostrava were decently filled thanks to fans from schools. Especially the pupils from the Primary School of Aleš Hrdlička attracted some attention by bringing several Russian flags. Many of them also had their faces decorated with the three Russian colours.

Thanks to pupils from primary schools, the ČEZ Arena was attended by 1,317 spectators. They saw a tight first period followed by an improved Russian play and an Australian collapse in their own power play.

You could count on the fingers of one hand how many times the Latvians posed a threat to the Swedish goal. The Scandinavians didn't really rush either and defeated their opponents in a calm atmosphere.
